A strong field competed for the NSW Cup at the stunning NSW Golf Club just south of Sydney in February. Strong winds pushed the scoring up but ensured a worthy winner as Wrag Barn's Ben Loughrey secured a 5 shot winning margin. Describing the conditions as a five club wind, with his best drive of the day, on the second, only just getting to 200 yards, Ben's winning score of 2 over par for the 36 holes was a great return. After enjoying the winter down under Ben, who is a +3 handicapper and member of the England A squad, returns to the UK in March to take up the challenge on the Amateur circuit in the UK. We look forward to seeing him back in the Wiltshire side and hopefully gaining full international honours in 2011. Full results of the NSW Cup can be found here. |
