After discussion with the R+A the Wiltshire County Championship, which is almost unique in being decided over 72 holes of strokeplay, will now be considered a ranking tournament for World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.

Details have to be determined but the top players in the Championship will earn points giving some players the opportunity to secure a ranking for the first time.
