The Marlborough team of Paul Green (1), Jack Hiscock (Scr) and captain, Dave Bauer (2) produced consistent scores on a beautiful day at Wrag Barn to win the Team Shield and Combes Salver for the winning aggregate gross and nett team scores. Only 1 shot ahead at lunchtime in the 2 round event, the team needed solid play in the afternoon session.  Jack Hiscock, just back for the summer from his college in the USA was first in after lunch with a 3 under par round of 69. Paul Green followed with a 3 over 75 and it was left to the skipper to seal the win with a great level par score of 72.

Marlborough will now go on to represent Wiltshire in the EGU Champion Club Tournament, to be held at North Hants GC on 12-13th September.

The individual gross prize winner, for the Searle Salver, was Pete Bicknell from High Post. Pete produced the best golf of the day adding an afternoon 71 to his morning round of 69 which started with an eagle 2 at the first!

 It was disappointing that more of the Wiltshire clubs did not field a team and in two cases failed to appear on the day, all the more so as Wrag Barn provided a first class course in such wonderful condition.
