On a wet and very windy day at The Wiltshire Golf Club teams of 4 juniors from Wiltshire clubs competed for the Junior Team Shield.
The early starters struggled with the conditions which gradually eased during the day producing but Neil Puffett, playing for Broome Manor, managed a gross 74 in the worst of the weather, pipping local man, Chris Stewart by 1 shot for the individual gross prize.

Neil's score was the backbone of Broome's win in the gross event, the team winning by 4 shots from the hosts.

The Wiltshire looked good for the Nett team prize until the very last card of the day was submitted. Playing off 20, Jack Thomas from Kingsdown came back in 38 shots for a gross 84, nett 64, catapulting Kingsdown into first place and relegating the hosts to their second runner up spot of the day.

As the gross prize winners, Broome will now go on to represent Wiltshire in the EGU Finals on 8 - 9th August at Burghley Park GC in Lincolnshire. NB, not 21/22 Aug as stated at the prize giving unless they are the winners in 2010 as well!!
