June 2010 - there is to be a course, Building on your Coaching Experience, to be held at Kingsdown Golf Club on the 1st July, from 1800 to 2000 hours. This course has been arranged following feedback from voluntary coaches. In your capacity as a Level 1 coach and/or Club junior organiser can I ask you to promote this to your volunteer coaches and consider attending yourself.
The course will be led by Steve Scott-Bowen, who is the Regional Development Officer for the Golf Foundation, who is also a golf professional. There will be some theory, but also a large chunk of practical, so it's a real 'hands on' session.
By the end of the 2 hour session you will have built on your coaching experience, having learnt how to structure a session, and most importantly, how to make your sessions stimulating, imaginative and productive, without being overly repetitive. As coaches, it is a real challenge to keep sessions varied and meaningful so that we can maintain the focus and concentration of our players.
This course aims to help with all that, and more. Please complete the attached form, which can also be accessed under the Coach Development section of the Partnership website. Andy Smith
