MATCH:

2nd Team vs Somerset

VENUE:

Orchardleigh G.C

DATE:

 17th July 2011

MATCH REPORT

A windy day at Orchardleigh G.C proved to be very difficult for both teams. Somerset current league leaders and Wiltshire who were yet to gain any points so far this season battled it out in testing conditions. Wiltshire’s determination and good play in the morning Foursomes gave them a 3 – 2 lead . So 5 wins in the single’s matches required could mean Wiltshire recording their first win this season. Dan Vallis started well with 3 birdes in the first three holes and ending with a win. Matches 2-3 went to Somerset a fight back was on the cards. Then Michael Cox recorded a 6/5 win, Charlie James a 5/4 win and young Ben Hayward on a rich vien of form won 2/1. A loss in match 7 only for Stan the Man to win 4/3 and clinch a very deserved first win of the season for Wiltshire WELL DONE LADS!!!!
