On a lovely June day we started our 2011 Channel League season at Cumberwell Golf Club against Gloucestershire.

A big thank you to Ali James and all his team for as always making us feel very welcome at his club, the course was in fantastic condition.

Foursomes were under way and after 9 holes it looked like our foursomes form was back to haunt us as we were up in one match but down in the other four.
A couple of late fightbacks from Matt & Jack and Tom & Luke got us a couple of halves and with Dan & Henry winning match 1 we went to lunch 3 - 2 behind.

Afternoon singles and tough matches for Henry and Matt as they both faced two guys in great form Jordon Williams & Sam Sullivan both playing off scratch.
Henry held on well and was square through nines holes but in the end Jordon pulled away to win 4&2. Matt was never up in his match and was quickly 3 down, and after making two birdies in 4 holes and losing them both to eagles the writing was on the wall and he went on to lose 6&4.
Great golf from Ross, always in control and he went on to win 6&4, Dan & Jack also faced tough matches and the pair of them both went down by the same score 3&2.
Tom on his home course come in with a 3&2 victory before our new Boys Champion Luke showed he is in top form by winning his game 7&5.
Jake & Sam were in two great matches both coming down to 18 before both games finished all square. Luke Aryton also brought his match down the last but went down by 1 hole.

Final result we lost the singles 6 - 4 and the match 9 - 6.  Mark Mumford
