The first match of the 2011 Seniors Channel League season was against Somerset at High Post Golf Club.
A disappointing start to the campaign for new Captain, Jerry Gegg as Somerset played very well on a course they perhaps knew too well for Wiltshire to have any home advantage; even to the point of one of the Somerset players being a member there! The foursomes were all very close, four of the five matches being decided 1 up, but the Somerset middle order recorded 6 wins in succession to guarantee their position at the top of the League table.
